Features
Built for marketing,
honest about data
Know where every visit comes from
Search, paid, social, email, referral and direct traffic are sorted automatically, with all five UTM parameters. Local sources like Yandex, VK and Telegram are recognised out of the box. Gauss detects an ad click, but does not store the click ID.
Compatible with GA4
Gauss uses the GA4 event vocabulary: purchase, generate_lead, sign_up and more. The GA4 adapter picks up your existing gtag and dataLayer events, so Gauss runs next to GA4 without re-tagging.
gtag('event', 'generate_lead', {
value: 40,
currency: 'EUR'
});No cookies, no fingerprinting
Gauss sets no cookies and stores nothing in the visitor's browser. A visitor is counted with a daily hash. The key for it is deleted every day, and the IP address is used only in memory and never stored.
Doesn't slow your site down
The script is up to 2 KB gzipped and loads asynchronously, so it doesn't block page rendering.
Standard analytics doesn't answer the main question
Which channels bring customers and money, and which only bring visits?
Part of your traffic is missing
Where cookies need consent, analytics that relies on them only counts visitors who click "Accept". You end up deciding on an incomplete sample.
You see traffic, not what sells
Visits are in the report. Conversion value by channel and the cost of a lead are not.
A simple question shouldn't need a custom report
In GA4, questions outside the standard reports are answered in Explorations, its report builder. A small business needs five or six clear reports instead.

Paths and funnels follow a visitor within one day: without cookies, Gauss does not link visits from different days. Linking across days is coming in extended mode, which you turn on separately in the site settings and which works only with the visitor's consent. Illustrative data.

Gauss calculates the facts, and AI only puts them into words. Every number is checked against your report.
- Each insight links to the report where you can see the fact.
- If nothing significant changed, Gauss says so instead of inventing an insight.
- The model receives only aggregated numbers and segment names, such as channels or campaigns. Raw events, visitor identifiers and URL query strings are never sent.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How does Gauss count unique visitors without cookies?
When an event arrives, Gauss computes a hash from the site, IP address and browser user agent with a key that changes every day. The IP address and user agent are not stored, and the key is deleted shortly after the day ends (UTC). The same browser on the same network counts once a day. Gauss cannot recognise it the next day, so for longer periods the number shows visitors per day, summed over the period.
How accurate is it?
We are measuring accuracy against server logs on beta sites. We will publish the measured error and the method on the Methodology page, and we don't quote a figure until then. The Methodology page already explains how each metric is calculated and where it has limits.
Can I run Gauss next to GA4?
Yes. The two scripts work independently. Gauss uses the same event names as GA4, and the GA4 adapter picks up your existing gtag and dataLayer events, so you don't need to re-tag your site. GA4 identifiers such as client_id are dropped and never reach Gauss.
What about ad blockers?
Some blockers stop analytics scripts, including Gauss. You can serve the script and data collection from your own subdomain, such as stats.yoursite.com, through a proxy. Setup is described in the documentation. Coming soon
How do I delete my data?
When you delete a site or your account, all its data, including backups, is deleted within 30 days.
How long is data kept?
Detailed events are kept for 3 months on Start and Marketing and 13 months on Business. Paths, funnels and custom filter combinations use them. Core reports on traffic, channels, pages and conversions are kept for 25 months on every plan.
Is there an API?
Yes. Send custom events from your site with gauss('event', …). Read your statistics through the read-only Stats API with a token. Send offline events such as deals and payments from your CRM or backend through the offline events API. Coming soon

Did you know?
In 1801, Carl Gauss calculated the orbit of Ceres from a handful of observations, after astronomers had lost sight of it. He took scattered data and found the pattern within.
Gauss Analytics is named after him, because good analytics does the same: it finds answers in scattered data.
The normal distribution — the bell curve — bears his name. It describes how measurements scatter around the true value.
The method of least squares, which Gauss used to compute the orbit of Ceres, is still used wherever a trend line is fitted to imprecise data.
His contemporaries called him Princeps mathematicorum — the prince of mathematicians. He saw the precise answer where others saw only noise.
