Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Gauss Lab (the "Service"), you agree to comply with these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with the terms, please do not use the Service.

Gauss Lab reserves the right to modify these terms. The current version is always available at gausslab.io/terms.

2. Service Description

Gauss Lab is a web analytics platform that allows you to track visitors, traffic sources, conversions, and custom events on customer websites. The Service works by installing the gauss.js JavaScript snippet on the customer's website.

3. Registration and Account

Registration is required to use the Service. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information during registration
  • Keep your login credentials confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • Be responsible for all actions performed through your account

One account may include multiple organizations and projects within your subscription plan.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Collect personal data without appropriate consent from data subjects
  • Violate applicable law, including GDPR and other data protection regulations
  • Distribute malicious software
  • Overload the Service infrastructure (DDoS attacks, excessive API requests)
  • Resell access to the Service without written consent from Gauss Lab

5. Pricing and Payment

5.1 Subscription Plans

The Service is offered on several subscription plans described at gausslab.io/pricing. Plan parameters (event limits, number of projects, functionality) may change with prior notice.

5.2 Payment

Payment is made monthly or annually depending on the selected plan. We use trusted payment providers; card details are not stored on our servers.

5.3 Exceeding Limits

If the event limit is exceeded, data collection continues. We will notify you of the overage and suggest upgrading to the next tier.

5.4 Refunds

Monthly payments are non-refundable. For annual plans, a prorated refund is possible within 14 days of payment — contact support.

6. Data and Ownership

All data collected through your project belongs to you. Gauss Lab makes no claim of ownership over your analytics data.

We process data on your behalf and do not use it for commercial purposes unrelated to providing the Service.

When closing your account, you may export your data before deletion. After deletion, data recovery is not possible.

7. Service Availability

We aim to maintain Service availability at 99.9% per month. For scheduled maintenance, we will notify users in advance.

Gauss Lab is not liable for losses arising from temporary Service unavailability.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without any warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Gauss Lab is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Gauss Lab' total liability to you shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service in the last 12 months.

9. Intellectual Property

All rights to the Service, including software, design, trademarks, and documentation, belong to Gauss Lab. These terms do not grant you any rights to the Service's intellectual property other than a limited right to use it in accordance with these terms.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time through settings. Gauss Lab may suspend or close an account for violation of these terms, with prior email notice where possible.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Disputes shall be resolved through negotiation; if settlement is not possible — in a competent court.
